Not quite Cubic yet
WOAH! Never did I imagine that I would be fully producing CU-Bricked as a full blown project (This is a lie I totally guessed it). As it currently stands this project is a bunch of cubes smashing into each other and over the next 2 months I hope to bring it to a full Beta and throw it out into the public.
Here's our new team!:
Jonathan "Stylish" Stanger - Director/Producer
Derek - Creative Spageghtti board
Luke Samuelson - Developer
June - Music/Audio
David - Graphics
VFX TBD

CUBE 1 - Complete
Okay, so now that we have the initial team it was to get running on breaking down CU-Bricked and seeing what was broken. Thanks to a great insight from Luke, it all was basically broken. The difficulty scaling didn't exist, the game had many a bug, the style was very... unique, and the upgrades weren't unique or enticing. But people kept playing... That's when you know you have something that is usable. The soul of the game is there, now just to give it a lot of plastic surgery. And a few face lifts.

The audio that exists is completely fine and needs no reworking whatsoever because Jonathan did such an amazing job that nothing could improve. Except for the fact it all sucks and doesn't even exist in most cases. Sooooo It'll all get reworked. Thankfully June is an amazing person who is taking that task!
CUBE 3 - Complete
Considering the fact that the original logo is just a Canva PNG slapped on a white background... Yeah we need a new logo. Thankfully after searching around on fiverr for a graphical artists I found David, and he is AMAZING. Check out the bottom for the NEW LOGO!!!!! I'm also using David for completely reworking all the graphics in the game from front to back.

Coding Rehaul! This is probably the biggest section but I'll dumb it down. Each aspect of the game basically has it's own blueprint. It breaks down like this: The Rack, The Dice, The Upgrades, The Score, The Calculator, and The Slots. Each of these work together but contain their own world of rules and systems. When we first created this in a time crunch a lot of it "worked" but it was all hard coded rather than modular. So first step? MODULARIZE. For CU-Bricked there isn't a beginning or end for what the gameplay should look like, for the most part the player creates that themselves. Basically shouldn't be a meta. When you build a hard coded system there is a meta that allows you to win all the time. But when the system is modular and expansive, the player creates their own preferred method of winning. I don't want to make a story, I need to make a world.

VFX creation. Okay this is the peak, this is the mountain, this is what makes or breaks the system. Funny pixels make dopamine go BRRRRR. When you press the calculate button there should be a visual representation of the points adding together in pretty color format.
CUBE 6 - Complete
This is one of the UI overhauls but specifically with the upgrade cards. Originally the designs were made for the class project but they needed an update. Taking the original idea and colors now we have a new pixelated style. The design looks fantastic! See below.
Future plans:
- Add things, lots of things, all the things
- Update and refine models for the dice and the rack
- Add upgrades that allow the player unique gameplay
- Add difficulty modes
